Bio
Dr. Tulio Sulbaran has a Ph.D in Civil Engineer concentration in Construction Management with a minor in Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He has a broad international work experience in the A/E/C (Architecture, Engineering and Construction). He has worked in Venezuela, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and U.S in scheduling, cost estimating and project management both in the field and office. Dr. Sulbaran has provided consulting and training services to several companies and organizations in Mississippi in scheduling, cost estimating, project management and especial projects.
Dr. Sulbaran is currently a faculty in the School of Construction at the University of Southern Mississippi (Southern Miss) and had taught: Construction Planning and Scheduling (BCT 458/558), Construction Project Management (BCT 477/577), Cost Estimating I (BCT 454/554), Project Control (BCT 486/586), Problem Identification (AEC 658), and Proposal Preparation (AEC 668).
Dr. Sulbaran’s major research thrust is the practical implementation of the latest technology such as Virtual Reality Environment, CAD applications, scheduling, cost estimating and simulation software to improve competitive advantage of A/E/C organizations. Dr. Sulbaran established and directs the “Innovation for Construction and Engineering Enhancement (ICEE)” research center at Southern Miss. that focuses on the development, implementation and assessment of the latest technology and management tools to improve educational and training environments as well as to enhance competitive advantage of companies. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Sulbaran is the proceedings editor/publisher of the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC), treasure of the American Society of Engineering Education Southeastern Section (ASEE-SE), chair of the grant task force of the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and member of the scientific committee of the Construction Applications of Virtual Reality (CONVR) among other professional and service activities.
